The Forecast Foundation, the entity that oversaw the launch of Augur, held an Initial Coin Offering (ICO) to raise funds in 2015. In it, REP tokens were distributed at the price of approximately $0.6 at the time. After that, it took until 2018 to actually distribute the tokens and launch the protocol, so in 2016 and 2017, the value of tokens was based on development progress and speculation. When REP entered the market properly, it quickly rose to $2 and even pumped to $12.90 in March 2016. Then the price entered a downtrend and REP finished the year at about $4. The following year, the whole cryptocurrency market was surging, and so was REP’s price. Though the latter half of 2017 has barely pushed the price of REP tokens to new heights, it did pump to almost $100 at the very start of 2018. It is the all-time high price of REP to this day: $123.34 on Jan 11, 2018. After that, it repeated the price movements of Bitcoin, sliding down to $7–9 by the end of 2018 in the bear market. However, this cycle changed under the influence of a bear market that lasted for the latter half of the year. At the finish line of 2019 REP arrived being worth $9 approximately. In January 2020, when the migration to v2 was announced, the price quickly rose to $17 and stayed above $10 until March. It dropped only slightly during the March crash to $7, and from there on until August, the price climbed and multiplied by almost four times. It largely followed the same trends as Bitcoin and the crypto market, shrinking in value both gradually and under the influence of crypto crashes: Terra in May, then FTX in October. In 2023, REP would diverge from the Bitcoin price action once again but this time around to the detriment of Augur. While the first cryptocurrency and major altcoins would enjoy a recovery, REP has only gone lower. Another positive Augur price prediction comes from Telegaon. They calculate that in 2023, the average price of REP will amount to $5.73, with a minimum price of $4.18 and a maximum price of $7.62. Augur Price Prediction for 2024 WalletInvestor algorithms evaluate REP very negatively. A year from now, according to their calculations, REP will lose 95% of its price value and cost only $0.0811. The Gov.capital portal predicts that by 2024, Augur will bounce again, growing to $8.20 in July. Despite being very bearish on the technical indicators for REP, CoinCodex somehow sees it grow a year from now. But don’t get your hopes up yet: they project it will be flatlining, and 12 months from now, it will appreciate only up to $1.99. The maximum price for REP that same year can reach $5.34. As for five years from now, the range for the average trading price for REP is between $14.29 and $17.07. The Augur price prediction Digital Coin Price gives for 2025 promises similar results. The maximum price will be about $6.50, but the minimum won’t go lower than $5.52. In five years, this range will rise to between $9 and $10.38. The Bitcoin Wisdom website echoes the previous forecasts for Augur in 2025. That year will line up with a bullish phase of the crypto market cycle. Despite it, they don’t see REP skyrocketing: the maximum predicted price is $6.67 and the minimum value is $5.72. The uptrend is set to continue into 2028, with REP trading for $11.43–12.39.
